My name is Maddie, and I am the proud owner of my own self taught and built business, MaddieCilSnaps!

My photography journey began in 2016, when I first picked up my mom's Canon t3i, which would soon become my t3i. At 14, I found joy in taking pictures of my dogs, flowers, and still life, and never thought my photo taking would expand beyond those things. Whenever an important occasion came around, I was always asked, "Maddie, do you have your camera?"

This led to me joining my yearbook staff in high school, still snapping pictures on the side. Portrait photography was something that occasionally crossed my mind, but it wasn't realistic for me at 16. I continued to carry my camera around constantly, and be the go-to person when anybody needed pictures taken.

Then, I was gifted a camera of my own. I had started taking portraits for family members and friends, and liked what I saw. Over the next 3 years, thousands of pictures would be taken. Photography was simply a hobby that was for me, by me. My love of the arts was something that has always inspired me to get as involved as I could, and dive deeply into what I love to do.

My freshman year of college, I thought that this was something I could be really good at, and I started my Instagram account. I had posted some of my pictures I had taken before of family and friends, not expecting much. Then, by my surprise, the first set of mini shoots I had ever advertised were gone and booked within 30 minutes. That's when I knew I had something worth putting my time in to. I don't think I'd be able to tell you exactly how I have gotten to where I am today from back then - it's all been a whirlwind! Throughout the past year and a half I have been able to perfect "my style," moved on to camera #3, have had the opportunity to shoot engagements, dance and theatre productions, concerts, and do so many other things I have never done before. I love learning and growing as a photographer, and every new experience is something I treasure forever.

That's a little about me - I'd love to get to know a little more about you! Send me a message on my contact page, and let's get started on working together!
